COCKTAIL CLASSES

STRIPERS SEAFOOD RESTAURANT

Learn how to make great cocktails! One hour class at 6pm on 1st Friday of the Month starting Feb 5th, 2010 for 4 months with a bonus Mother's Day Brunch cocktail class at noon for only $25 per person. Download the flyer.

Classes will include: 

• Canapés
• Bar gear (courtesy of Bowstreet) to take home
• Learn basic cocktails, basic tools of the cocktail, and bartending tricks
• Participants will make 2 cocktails (well only) and be drinking them
• Recipe book for the cocktails made

First month - Vodka (Feb. 5th)

• history of vodka
• infusions
• martini making – dry vs. extra dry, gibsons, perfects, vespers
• bruising vodka
• cosmo
• classic martini

Second month - Gin (Mar. 5th)

• history of gin
• grades of gin, which is better for which cocktails
• simple syrup
• French 75
• choice of dirty martini or gimlet

Third month - Rum (Apr 2nd)

• history of rum
• talk about different kinds of rum (light vs. dark vs. spiced)
• muddling
• mojito
• rum punch

Fourth month - Tequila (May 7th)

• history of tequila
• sour mix
• margarita
• tequila sunrise
• silver vs. gold

Brunch drinks (May 9th)

• Bloody Mary mix and variations thereof
• mimosas
• screwdrivers
• evolution of the hangover cure
